If you love traditional toys, if you care for the planet, and if you are looking for an educational gift, Lobo Feliz is a superb choice. This toy shop, located very close to the Museo del Romanticismo, is a wonderful discovery for those who might think that only trendy fashion stores or bars are to be found in the Malasaña neighbourhood.
Lobo Feliz was founded by Luis, a Madrileño whose imminent paternity made him realise that there were not that many great quality toy stores in his native city. So he opened Lobo Feliz in 2010, and he filled it with his favourite toys from France, Belgium or Germany. At this delightful shop, you can find all sorts of games, toys and many other goods associated to playtime and child development. For the youngest customers, they have baby activity blankets, doudous, musical dolls, teething rings and the cutest shoes.
They stock a wide range of wooden toys, some imported from Poland or Germany, and some are local products such as Wodibow, a set of wooden pieces to assemble different animals, designed and made in Segovia, northwest of Madrid. At Lobo Feliz you can also find unusual wooden toys and games, such as the magnetic wooden building blocks by Tegu. These are really fun to experiment with creative designs, ideal for curious young minds. And this company is doing a great job in Honduras, too, with their social committment!
Their train sets, by the reputable Sweedish company Brio, are perfect for little hands and, of course, totally safe and manufactured in a responsable manner, using wood from traceable sources.
You can also find plastic toys for the bathtime, made from recycled materials, with simple and adorable designs. They stock a selection of ships and ferry boats by Green Toys, an American company which is committed to toy safety and sustainability.
Their French and Belgian puppets and dolls are simply irresistible and timeless.
Lobo Feliz also has delightful kitchen sets, educational board games, arts and crafts sets, backpacks for children, and amazingly beautiful and classy ride-ons, made, naturally, of wood. So, if you are looking for a special present that is cuddly, cute, traditional, and at the same time respectul of the environment, this is your shop in the Malasaña district.
