Spanish Civil War Tour Testimonials

Before the tour, my teenagers knew almost nothing about the Spanish Civil War saved watching Pan's Labyrinth. Almu gave them a great 3 hrs lecture and tour of various spots in Madrid on the subject.

Her passion was infectious and the kids cared deeply about the cause and the people. They began asking many questions. One of the biggest questions was "why didn't the other countries help the Republicans?"

Almu inspired us to think about this war at a personal level. She is a great teacher.

The Spanish Civil War Tour with Dr Almudena Cros is an extraordinary experience. She doesn’t “lecture” and this isn’t a typical “tour“ – something much more wonderful occurs. The tour provides a multi-dimensional immersion into a complex time and history. Almudena is deeply knowledgeable and passionate about this period, and it shows.

She provided lots of fascinating, well chosen documentation, some of it from her own family. Nothing is rote in what she presents and how she presents it. Almudena skillfully brings to life the Civil War in Spain, the activities of the International Brigades, daily life for ordinary and extraordinary people during the period, Hitler’s role, even the greater global picture. I wasn’t bored for a second.

Almudena is passionate, a great educator, funny, down-to-earth, and generous. She connects to her audience in a genuine way.

I can’t recommend this Spanish Civil War Tour highly enough. It was riveting- it’s a week later and I’m still thinking about it.

Almudena and her team are passionate and well informed.

I took the tour with my cousin and we were delighted and proud to know more about our great uncle who was a member of the International Brigades and who fought in the Battle of Jarama.

They have good connections with the Abraham Lincoln Brigade and through the relatives tours and they are constantly adding to the historical knowledge. It's a must do!
